What is anonymity? Darknets? Deep Web? Usenet?
The best books on anonymity ever. Each type of deep web or darknet is a little different than all the rest. One uses Freenet (Darknets), another uses Tor (Deep Web), an Usenet uses newsreader apps like Newshosting or Easynews or Usenetserver app. But not all are anonymous. They are simply private. Use VPNs to enhance privacy.
Can I get into trouble surfing the deep web?
In a word, no, as long as certain precautions are taken, such as: using the latest edition of Tor browser with a VPN you trust, not giving out ANY social media information on you–your real name–passwords you have used on Facebook, email, etc.
What can I buy on the Deep Web?
Just about anything short of a rocket launcher. But beware of scams and only order from places you have trust. Never send money to anyone anywhere without having some level of trust established. Like the axiom, trust but verify (more on this in Burners and Black Markets which teaches you how to buy ‘stuff’ on the black markets around the world.
What about the long arm of the law?
Security and anonymity are covered at length in Tor and the Dark Art of Anonymity. But in short, never do anything that goes against your own good judgement–knowing that the law varies from country to country. Weigh the risks accordingly and (again) never send money or personal details about yourself to someone you do not know and trust. Remember, reviews can be bought or dirt cheap (fake). Not all that glitters is gold and no one owes you anything...mostly.
